Crock pot roast
Probably my favorite meal ever, but definitely my favorite crock pot meal. Throw that baby in there for 12 hours on low, and you have yourself a *perfectly* cooked roast :-)
INGREDIENTS -
- Roast, any kind works
- 1 can of cream of mushroom soup
- 1 onion cut up or 1 packet of onion soup mix
- 1 c. beef broth
- 3 c. water
- As many carrots and potatoes as you can fit in there
Directions -
- Typically I start by putting half of the carrots and potatoes I'm going to use on the bottom of the crock pot.
- Next, I put half of the onion i'm using in with the other veggies.
- Plop the roast down on top of that and then cover the top of it with the can of mushroom soup.
- Finally, you're going to put the rest of the onion, potatoes and carrots on top of that.
- Add a little bit of salt and pepper on top and you are good to go!
- Cook on low for 12 hours or high for 6 hours.
Notes -
You can only cook this for 10 hours on low, but I highly suggest making the time to get it in early so you don't have to cook it on high. The longer it cooks the more tender it will be, seriously melt in your mouth tender.
There really wont be a big difference if you use the onion soup mix vs. an actual onion. Some of my family members actually prefer this because they don't like onions, but on the other hand some people love to eat cooked onions.
Enjoy,
Xx Gracie
